Easter Bunny GrabOne

It’s Easter and if you’ve got a troupe of schoolchildren under your wing, or are lucky enough to be a teacher, then there’s two full weeks of exciting, guilt-free holidays spread out before you. Sure, you can spend this time running errands, sitting in watching TV and yearning for the day we get to crack open our Easter eggs OR you can spend your days trying new experiences with a little help from GrabOne.

The Easter bunny won’t be hopping out for another few days so we’ve plenty of time to prepare for the chocolate feast. Keep the kids distracted with a fun day out in our nation’s lovely capital.

Take to the waters with Dublin Bay Cruises and choose between five different routes, each one last 75 minutes. Sail between Howth, Dun Laoghaire and the city centre and spot a local pod of dolphins or seals on your way. Each boat has heated passenger cabin if the weather isn’t up to scratch on the day.

Afterwards you can pop into O’Connell street and enjoy a scoop of fresh gelato from SUSO and a steaming mug of hot chocolate. Yum.

If boats aren’t really your thing, then don’t worry, there’s some fantastic family-friendly shows happening right now. Check out Smock Alley Theatre’s latest production Trouble in the Kingdom of Enchantasia. Kids will love Tristan the Knight’s quest to free the Crown Princess in a magical tale of adventure. The show runs from April 4 – 11 with matinee and evening showings available.

If you’re lucky enough to be down south in Cork, Kerry or Limerick during the Easter Holidays then you can roll right up to Circus Gerbola’s Big Top for an evening of thrills and daring displays. The Circus is currently in Millstreet but will be journeying over to Charleville tomorrow until April 4.

Okay okay let’s not forget about the big kids here. The culture vultures can spend their Easter holidays getting to know Saint Patrick’s Cathedral or the James Joyce and the Literary Revival while the adventurers can spend an evening shooting paintballs in Kilternan.

Whatever you do this Easter, just remember you can to chill out with a big old chocolate egg at the end of it all and stuff yourself silly after a long Lent.
